About me: Hi, I’m Nicholas Blasquez. Addiction treatment counselor and lifelong student of self-and-wellness.

I work in a men’s residential drug and alcohol rehab, where I get to see men at rock bottom fight for their souls, and win, every single day.
Sure, this work comes with some heartbreaks, but it’s a small thing compared to seeing the light come on in someone’s eyes as they step out of the fog of addiction.
So that’s what this blog is about. Snapshots of my days and my efforts at helping guys transform beyond addiction. The magic I see working daily with 20 guys struggling to rebuild after decades of late-stage addiction. At its core, it’s about healing, reconnecting to self, and living life on purpose.
For people needing help. Breaking the heavy chains of addiction is an elusive thing but I know one thing: guilt won’t do it, neither will threats or court orders. It takes inner-work. A restoration of mind, body, and spirit built on self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love. Because the road back home is calling; it’s as simple and soul-shaking as committing to a better life, then taking the steps to get there.
Because self-care is renewal. And reconnecting is the cure.
